The short version. WAJDSchool is free. There are no accounts and no sign-up. A child's learning, their name, their progress, stars and pet all live on the device itself and are never sent to us. We do not collect, sell or share any child's personal information, and we show no advertising.
Who we are
WAJDSchool is a free home-learning app made by WAJD. You can reach us at privacy@wajd.co.uk. This policy explains what happens to information when you or your child use the app at homeschool.wajd.co.uk, or through the app installed from an app store.
Information stored on the device
To let a child carry on where they left off, the app saves a few things in the browser storage of the device you are using:
- The pupil name and stage you choose during setup.
- Which lessons have been practised, and the weekly plan.
- Game stars, streaks and the chosen pet.
This information stays on the device. It is not sent to WAJD, it is not linked to any account, and it is not shared with anyone. Clearing your browser data, or using the in-app option to switch or reset the pupil, removes it.
Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for or collect a child's real name, address, age, photo, email or phone number.
- We do not require an account or a login to learn.
- We do not show advertising and we use no advertising trackers.
- We do not sell or share personal information with anyone.
Lesson content
Lessons are fetched from WAJD's own content service over the internet. These requests are anonymous: they carry no account and no personal details, only the name of the lesson being opened. Once loaded, lessons are stored on the device so the app keeps working offline.
Anonymous, cookieless analytics
So we can understand which pages are used and improve the app, we use WAJD Analytics, our own privacy-first measurement. It sets no cookies, uses no advertising identifiers, and does no cross-site tracking. It counts page views in aggregate only and never builds a profile of any person or child.
Optional AI helper
WAJDSchool can include an optional study helper, which is turned off by default and only appears if an administrator switches it on. When it is on and a learner chooses to use it, the question they type is sent to answer it and is not used to advertise to anyone. If the helper is off, every lesson still works fully through the Learn, Try and Show steps.
Children's privacy
WAJDSchool is designed to be safe for children. Because we require no account and collect no personal information about a child, there is nothing for a child to give away. We follow the principles of the UK Children's code and comparable rules such as COPPA: data minimisation, no behavioural advertising, and no unnecessary collection.
Your choices
- You can remove all on-device data at any time by switching or resetting the pupil, or by clearing the browser or app storage.
- You can use the whole curriculum without ever entering a real name.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be made clear.
